Mark your calenders for the annual Charles City Jazz Festival to be held on Saturday, March 8th. With more than 15 participating high school jazz ensembles, this year's festival is sure to showcase some of the finest talent in Iowa. Charles City's own North Grand Jazz Band, under the direction of Laura Paarmann, kicks off this year's festival with an exhibition performance starting at 7:00 AM. As in the past, students will have an opportunity to work with a competition judge on-stage following each performance. At 11:45 AM, Charles City High School Jazz Band along with director Christopher Sauke will entertain the audience. The compilation will take place at the Charles City Middle School auditorium. Admission for the entire day is only $2.00 and concessions will be available throughout the event.
